About the Communications Associate Role

The Communications Associate role at Btrust is designed for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who enjoys coordinating content and supporting digital campaigns.

In this position, you will assist with communications related to Btrust, Btrust Builders, engineering activities, events, and organizational updates. Additionally, you will work closely with the Communications Lead, Sharon Murugi, while collaborating with the Programs and Engineering teams to ensure messaging remains accurate, timely, and aligned with Btrust’s voice.

Key Responsibilities

As a Communications Associate at Btrust, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting content planning, scheduling, and publishing across social media, newsletters, and internal channels
  • Assisting with digital campaigns, announcements, and event communications
  • Coordinating with designers and contributors to deliver visual and written content on time
  • Monitoring engagement and gathering insights to improve reach and messaging
  • Highlighting program milestones, fellows’ achievements, and open-source contributions
  • Compiling and analyzing communications data for reporting and impact measurement

Through these efforts, you will help strengthen Btrust’s visibility and community engagement.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in the Btrust Communications Associate job, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in communications, content creation, or digital marketing
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Understanding of digital communications and online audience engagement
  • Familiarity with tools such as Mailchimp, Notion, Buffer, or similar platforms
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Meanwhile, knowledge of Bitcoin, open-source development, or decentralized technologies is a strong advantage. Experience in nonprofit, technology, or fintech environments is also a plus.
