Project Coordinator Jobs at GAIN Nigeria

The Project Coordinator GAIN role offers a meaningful opportunity to support youth employment and inclusive economic growth in Nigeria. Currently, the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is recruiting three (3) Project Coordinators to help implement a multi-stakeholder programme focused on creating dignified and fulfilling work for Nigerian youth under 35 years.

Importantly, the programme prioritises young women, persons with disabilities, and internally displaced persons across agrifood value chains. As a result, the role directly contributes to inclusion, productivity, and long-term economic resilience. Each position comes with a two-year fixed-term contract, subject to funding availability, and will be based in Lagos, Kano, or Nasarawa.

About the Project Coordinator GAIN Role

In this role, Project Coordinators will provide zonal-level coordination and performance management across multiple states. Specifically, they will ensure that implementation aligns with national strategies, programme objectives, and donor requirements.

At the same time, coordinators will work closely with implementing partners, state governments, and private sector actors. Through this collaboration, the programme will maintain consistency, quality, and accountability across all operational areas.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Coordination and Planning

  • Coordinate programme delivery across multiple states within the assigned zone
  • Align workplans, budgets, and deliverables with national and zonal priorities
  • Harmonise partner activities to ensure consistency in implementation and reporting

Performance Management and Quality Assurance

  • Monitor progress against key targets such as job creation, enterprise growth, and productivity
  • Identify implementation bottlenecks early and support timely resolution
  • Conduct routine field visits, spot checks, and quality audits
  • Ensure gender inclusion, safeguarding, and technical standards remain embedded

Stakeholder Engagement and Financial Support

  • Serve as GAIN’s focal representative within the zone
  • Manage relationships with state governments, partners, private sector actors, and development agencies
  • Support budgeting, expenditure tracking, and financial forecasting

About You – Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate brings experience in programme coordination or management within agriculture, livelihoods, or private-sector development projects. Moreover, strong stakeholder coordination skills are essential for success in this role.

Required Experience

  • Experience coordinating field activities across multiple partners
  • Proven ability to track timelines and deliverables against donor standards
  • Familiarity with project management tools for monitoring and reporting
  • Capacity to coordinate projects involving production, market access, and inclusion

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Development Studies, Economics, Management, or a related field
  • Certification in project management or development planning is desirable

Salary and Benefits

GAIN offers a competitive and transparent compensation package. The starting gross salary for this role is from NGN 14,550,552 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, exceptional candidates may receive a higher offer.
