Purpose of the Account Manager Role
The Finance Unit at eHealth Africa ensures financial efficiency, transparency, and sustainability across the organization. Therefore, it oversees budgeting, reporting, risk management, and compliance while aligning financial practices with donor requirements and regulatory standards.
As Account Manager eHealth Africa, you will serve as a senior financial expert responsible for leading core accounting functions across all business units and funding streams. Moreover, you will support executive decision-making by delivering accurate, timely financial reports and strengthening internal controls.
Key Responsibilities of the Account Manager
This role requires both technical expertise and leadership capability. As a result, the Account Manager will actively oversee accounting operations while driving continuous improvement.
Core Accounting and Financial Oversight
- Maintain general ledger integrity through accurate journal entries and timely trial balances
- Manage month-end close processes, including reconciliations and adjustment approvals
- Deliver statutory and donor financial reports that meet compliance standards
- Oversee payroll operations, ensuring accurate tax calculations and statutory deductions
Compliance, Controls, and Audits
- Design and improve accounting procedures and internal controls
- Serve as the primary liaison for audits and regulatory reviews
- Ensure transparency and audit readiness across accounts payable and financial documentation
- Support tax filings, due diligence, and financial reviews
Leadership and Collaboration
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff to promote professional growth
- Collaborate with Programs, HR, Procurement, and Operations teams on budget alignment
- Support executive leadership with reliable financial insights
Furthermore, the Account Manager continuously evaluates financial systems and audit protocols to strengthen accountability and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

Experience Requirements
- 6–8 years of progressive accounting experience
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role
- Experience in NGO or nonprofit environments preferred
- Proven experience managing donor-funded projects
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as NetSuite or similar
Certifications
- ACCA, ACA, CPA, ICAN, or equivalent certification preferred
