Head of Accounts Job in Lekki, Lagos

A leading Nigerian manufacturing company is currently recruiting for a Head of Accounts Job in Lekki, Lagos. Although the role is based in Lekki, the successful candidate will travel regularly to Makun, Ogun State to support manufacturing operations.

This senior finance position plays a critical role in strengthening the company’s accounting structure, ensuring accurate reporting, and driving financial discipline across the organization. The Head of Accounts will lead the accounting function while managing a complex multi-bank and multi-currency environment.

Role Overview

The Head of Accounts will oversee financial reporting, enforce strong internal controls, and ensure process discipline across the finance team. In addition, the role requires a hands-on leader with solid manufacturing accounting experience who can build systems that support proactive decision-making.

The key objective is to transform the accounting function from reactive to proactive. Therefore, the selected candidate will implement strict process controls, ensure real-time ERP compliance, and develop a high-performing finance team capable of delivering accurate financial data on demand.

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Accounts will lead and supervise the accounting team while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Furthermore, the role involves strengthening internal controls and enforcing financial discipline across all operations.

The successful candidate will manage multi-bank and multi-currency transactions effectively. In addition, they will drive ERP compliance and standardize accounting processes to improve efficiency and transparency.

Importantly, the role requires close collaboration with production and operational teams in Ogun State to ensure proper cost tracking and manufacturing accounting accuracy.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. ACA, ACCA, or CPA certification is mandatory. An MBA or Master’s degree will be considered an added advantage.

Candidates should have between 8 to 12 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in manufacturing or production environments. Additionally, a minimum of 3 years in senior accounting or finance leadership is required.

Strong knowledge of internal controls and ERP systems is essential, with Odoo experience preferred. Experience managing multi-currency and multi-entity financial environments is also required.
